Ashley Roberts (born 14th September 1981) is from Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
She began dancing at the age of three, and was singing at the age of eight. Her father was a drummer who played for the Mamas and the Papas. He later became a car dealer. Her mother was a Pilates instructor.
During high school summer breaks she had travelled to the West Coast to study modern dance. After high school she moved permanently to Los Angeles. She appeared in TV commercials and a Counting Crows music video "Accidentally in Love". Within six months of her move she was also a Pussycat Doll. As with the other group members she is a salaried employee of Interscope Records.
Previous experience includes American Dreams, MTV's Scratch and Burn, commercials for Eclipse Gum, AT & T, and she appears in fellow Doll Carmen Electra's Strip Tease video.
Her doll name in the band was "Barbie doll", but to avoid trouble from Mattel (who own the rights to the Barbie Doll) changed it to "angel doll". Carmit Bachar of the pussycat dolls jokingly says "Ashley looks so sweet and innocent, but sometimes she's not." Kimberly Wyatt also sees her as a best friend and a "little goofball who can make you laugh no matter what."
She made her debut in the commercial film industry as Brooke in the Dance/Drama/Romance film Make It Happen alongside Black Christmas actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Riley Smith. The film was directed by Darren Grant and distributed by The Winestine Company. The film premiered on August 8, 2008 in the U.K. to mixed but mainly positive reviews. Production began from August 8, 2007 to September 17, 2007.
On her official blog she stated that she would work on a number of different projects. She is working on her acting, and she will be a host on Maxim does Spring Break on E!. She has also shot a pilot for MTV with Aubrey O'Day of Danity Kane, Marques Houston, and singer/songwriter Amanda Ghost. She announced that she is in the studio and recording songs for her own music. Apart from her acting projects she has launched her first line of lingerie designed for the beach in Sydney, Australia.
